Police have arrested the traditional healer, of Choma, Southern province, who allegedly defiled and made pregnant his 17-year-old daughter.
The 39-year-old man, who was on the run, was apprehended yesterday and has been detained.
Southern Province Police Commanding Officer, AUXENSIO DAKA has confirmed the arrest of the man, a resident of Bailoni compound in Choma.
Investigations have revealed that the traditional healer repeatedly defiled his daughter between 2023 and 2024, making her pregnant, and she has since given birth to a baby boy.
Mr. DAKA explained that the incident happened when the suspect took his daughter with him to Chongwe district for some traditional healing work, where he started sexually abusing her.
He stated that police are committed to effectively dealing with defilement cases by ensuring that perpetrators are brought to book.
